This was a good short story. Loved the way it was from days gone by. I would recommend for those to read it.

Title: MILLENNIAL PROJECTIONS
Author: John O'Loughlin
Description:
A substantial collection of short prose from the author of 'Dream Compromise', with, as usual, a bias towards philosophical speculation coupled with social and political radicalism, not least in the title piece which is arguably reminiscent of 'Brave New World' in its futuristic setting.

A much deeper and intellectually more confident collection of short stores or, rather, prose than the author's first collection, 'A Magnanimous Offer', which, unlike before, shows the influence of certain philosophers, including Oswald Spengler, on his li

Title: A VISIT TO HELL
Author: John O'Loughlin
Description:
John O'Loughlin's second volume of short prose (after 'A Magnanimous Offer') is exclusively prosodic in relation to a collection of short stories that deal with subjects as varied as a literary club, a painting of three literary heavyweights, a Camus-inspired monologue by a social cynic, a projection into a celibate future, and, of course, the title piece, a visit by a professor to the abode of the Devil, who is keen to impress upon him the extent of his sway over contemporary life. Title: A SELFISH MAN
Author: John O'Loughlin
Description:
John O'Loughlin's penultimate collection of short prose - his sixth in all - is indeed so philosophical as to effectively defy the concept of short stories. Even so, the contents are anything but dull, even if at times one or two of them borders on the bizarre.

Title: A TRUE EXTREMISM
Author: John O'Loughlin
Description:
John O'Loughlin's seventh and final volume of short prose contains some fifteen examples of the genre, each of which seems to vie with its neighbour in terms of the extension and consolidation of philosophical radicalism until, towards the end, we virtually enter the realm of aphoristic philosophy with pieces that seem to echo Nietzsche in their style and content.

An eclectic collection of short prose with a philosophical bias that is crowned with an aphoristic appendix. In other words, an artful blend of prose and philosophy.

Title: DREAM COMPROMISE
Author: John O'Loughlin
Description:
A collection of short prose by John O'Loughlin which veers from the gently erotic opening piece to the seemingly smug but really quite nightmarish concluding piece, 'Dream Compromise', which has a trick in its tail, so to speak. As does the collection as a whole, in that it ends with a series of aphorisms in keeping with the author's fondness for philosophy.

Description:
John O'Loughlin's first collection of short prose, dating from 1976, combines two playlets, or one-act plays, with a couple of dialogues of a literary character and two short stories ... to create a modest start of a literary road that was to lead to true greatness and several more volumes of short prose ... proper, with not a hint of drama in the above-mentioned terms.
