The author's wife breeds and trains German shorthaired pointers for the show ring and for hunt tests in the field. The cover photo is of one of our own dogs, Viñia. She is still active in the fieldand loves to sniff out and point birds at age 11.5.
The regional locales in Southern California's Inland Empire are also authentic. The author lives and works in Califonia.
