Five Quickies for Roger and Suzanne is an anthology of shorter mystery stories featuring characters from the popular South American mystery series solving murders in South America and at home in Los Angeles. Roger and Suzanne solve a complex murder mystery with the help of Juliet, a Champion German Shorthaired Pointer.  Roger goes undercover impersonating a wealthy a show dog owner to  investigate murders, mayhem, and miscellaneous other crimes occurring at California dog shows.  Along the way, Suzanne picks up an ominous stalker.  The backgrounds are authentic, as the author and his wife breed and show champion German Shorthaired Pointers.  One of their real dogs, Jolie, is the source of the cover photo and the model for the fictional Juliet.

As the case unfolds Roger and his friends encounter drug cartels, crooked cops, and high level corruption.  They also learn a great deal, as will the reader, about how dog shows work, how dogs are judged, and what it takes for a dog to win the coveted titles of Champion and Grand Champion.  There's also lots of inside stuff about dog training and what it's like to live with a high energy hunting dog that loves their human family.

The book's details about hunt tests are authentic and have been carefully researched. So is all of the information about dogs.  The author's wife breeds and trains German shorthaired pointers for the show ring and for hunt tests in the field.  The cover photo is of one of our own dogs, Viñia.  She is still active in the fieldand loves to sniff out and point birds at age 11.5. 

The regional locales in Southern California's Inland Empire are also authentic.  The author lives and works in Califonia.
